Terms of Service

Last updated:

By accessing or using Oreni you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Who can use Oreni

You may use Oreni if you are at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required by the laws of your country) and you have the legal capacity to agree to a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are using Oreni on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

2. Your account

Some Oreni features require a free account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, for everything that happens under your account, and for notifying us promptly at contact@oreni.co if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, the platform’s Content Policy, or applicable law.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit URLs whose underlying content violates the Content Policy;
  • attempt to evade rate limits, weekly processing caps, or the anti-abuse IP-keyed daily quota that applies to anonymous visitors;
  • scrape, crawl, hammer, or otherwise programmatically extract data from Oreni in a way that places undue load on the platform or its upstream providers;
  • use Oreni as a workaround to obtain, mirror, or redistribute copyrighted material that you do not have permission to use — Oreni generates derivative study aids from publicly available YouTube content via official APIs; it is not a redistribution channel for the underlying video;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the service that is not made available as open source;
  • use Oreni to harass, defraud, mislead, or harm any individual or group, or to generate content that violates the rights of any third party.

4. AI-generated content

Oreni produces course content automatically using third-party large language models (currently Google Gemini). AI-generated text:

  • may contain factual errors, omissions, fabricated quotations, mistranscriptions, or misinterpretations of the source video;
  • must be independently verified before being relied on for any consequential decision (academic, financial, medical, legal, technical, or otherwise);
  • does not constitute professional advice of any kind — see the Disclaimers page.

Every generated section in Oreni includes a “Report inaccuracy” button. Use it; reports route directly to the team and inform model and prompt tuning.

5. Ownership and licence

The underlying YouTube video remains the property of its original creator. The structured course Oreni generates from a video is a derivative study aid: you may use it for your personal learning, share access to the course inside Oreni with people who also have accounts, and export it for personal archival, but you may not republish the generated course as if it were your own original work or commercialise it without our written permission.

Oreni’s name, logo, brand assets, source code, and platform UI are owned by Oreni and are not licensed for reuse outside the service.

6. Beta status

Oreni is currently in invite-only beta. Beta accounts have a weekly processing cap of two hours of generation per account. Features, limits, and pricing may change without prior notice during the beta period. We do not guarantee that data created during the beta will carry forward unchanged to the general-availability release, although we will make a reasonable effort to preserve it.

7. Paid plans

No paid plans are active at the time of writing. A one-time lifetime deal is planned via AppSumo at a later date. The Refund Policy describes the refund window that will apply once paid plans go live.

8. Third-party services

Oreni relies on third-party providers to function — see the Subprocessors section of the Privacy Policy. Your use of features that depend on those providers is also subject to the providers’ own terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes upstream beyond our control.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Oreni is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oreni and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of Oreni — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising out of or relating to Oreni will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50.

11. Termination

You may stop using Oreni at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing contact@oreni.co; see the Privacy Policy for what gets deleted.

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, with or without notice, if you breach these terms, the Content Policy, or applicable law, or if continuing to serve you exposes us or other users to material risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) survive.

12. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts located in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Oreni, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the in-app notice system or by email to the address on your account, at least seven days before they take effect for active users. Continued use of Oreni after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
